Why Neevo exists
Good software should not be reserved for big companies
I kept seeing the same gap. Good software existed, but it was often priced for large companies, built around someone else’s process, or designed for a market where the assumptions about payments, privacy, support and everyday life were completely different from ours.
South African households and small businesses were left choosing between expensive corporate systems, generic tools that almost fitted, and fragile spreadsheets that had quietly become essential infrastructure.
Neevo exists because I wanted to build the kind of software I kept wishing was available: useful, understandable, properly supported, and designed around how people here actually work and live.
That means local hosting where it matters, POPIA considered from the start, ZAR and local payment rails treated as normal, and software that does not ask you to reorganise your life around the product.
I am not trying to build the biggest studio. I am trying to build a small number of things properly, for people who need them to keep working long after the launch announcement is over.

Built for the people who’ll use it
Not for a demo, a pitch deck or a screenshot. The real test is whether the person using it on a busy Tuesday can understand what to do next without asking for help.
Honest about trade-offs
Every choice costs something: time, money, flexibility, simplicity or maintenance. I will tell you what each option gives you and what it takes away.
Built to last
I prefer boring, proven technology over whatever is fashionable this year. Software should still be understandable and maintainable after the trend has moved on.

Neevo is small. That is not something I am waiting to grow out of. It means you speak directly to the person who is shaping the product and writing the code.
There is no account manager translating your question into a ticket and then translating the answer back to you. The person in the conversation is the person responsible for the build.
It also means capacity is limited. I only run a small number of projects at a time so each one gets proper attention, quick decisions and work that does not disappear into an agency queue.
That limit is one of the reasons the quality holds. I would rather tell you when the next opening is than take your deposit and become difficult to reach.
